80% Cellulose / 20% Polyester Blend
80/20 is the industry standard for general-purpose dust collection. It's made from a blend of cellulose (paper) and polyester fibers, offering a good balance of performance, cost, and durability.
It’s not meant for moist or sticky dust and isn’t cleanable.
DAMN Filters - 80% / 20% - Cellulose/Polyester Paper Blend Specifications
- Composition
- Cellulose/Polyester paper blend
- MERV Rating
- MERV 10/11
- Max Temp
- 175°F (continuous)
- Air Permeability:
- 15–25 CFM/ft² @ 0.5" W.C. (typical range)
- ASHRAE Test
- Initial 52.2
- Applications
- Grinding dust, woodworking, blast booths, powder & dry chemical processing, non-oily welding smoke
- Notes
- Non-washable. Flame resistant (FR) 80/20 available on request.
Think of 80/20 as the workhorse. Reliable, affordable, and good enough for most dry dust jobs where indoor air isn’t recirculated.
High Strength Nanofiber
Nanofiber filter media is not 100% nanofiber. Think of it as nano-wrapped 80/20. The thin layer of nanofiber improves surface loading, boosts filtration efficiency for fine particles, and enhances pulse-cleaning performance.
DAMN Filters - Nanofiber Specifications
- Composition
- 80/20 media with a nanofiber synthetic layer applied electrostatically
- MERV rating
- Merv 15
- Max Temp
- 200°F. (maximum continuous temperature resistance)
- Air Permeability:
- 25–26.5 CFM/ft² @ 0.5" W.C. (typical range)
- Thickness
- ~.014"
- Applications
- Where fine particles are involved, like in welding, plasma cutting, powder coating, laser cutting, metalizing, and ferrous metal grinding.
- Notes
- Non-washable. Flame resistant (FR) nanofiber available on request.

Nanofiber filter media is ideal for systems that recirculate air back into the facility, where indoor air quality matters most.
Its ultra-fine surface layer improves both particle capture efficiency and filter cleanability, while maintaining high airflow and offering resistance to many common industrial chemicals.
Customers typically report a 10% to 20% increase in filter life compared to standard media, thanks to reduced dust penetration and easier pulse-cleaning.
Best suited for high-particulate applications with fine or submicron dust, where surface-loading, dust release, and filtration efficiency are critical.
100% Spunbond Polyester
Spunbond polyester is a tough, synthetic media built for dry and mildly damp environments. Its smooth surface structure makes it highly washable; ideal for operations that need reusable filters or frequent cleaning between runs.
DAMN Filters - 100% Spunbond Polyester Specifications
- Composition
- 100% Spunbonded Polyester
- MERV rating
- Merv 12
- Max Temp
- 200°F (upgradable to 250°F)
- Air Permeability:
- 25–30 CFM/ft² @ 0.5" W.C. (typical range)
- Thickness
- ~0.024"
- Mullen Burst
- >300 psi
- Applications
- Chemical processing, pharmaceutical, pigment, plastics, mineral and metal processing, paper, cardboard, cement, cocoa, coffee, aluminized oxide, and rubber grinding dust.
- Notes
- Washable media. Flame resistant (FR) spunbond available on request.
Compared to cellulose blends, Spunbond resists abrasion, handles rougher dust, and stands up better to repeated maintenance. It tolerates light moisture and occasional humidity without breaking down.
Best for dry bulk materials, grain, plastic dust, and general industrial use—especially where cleanability, durability, and cost-per-cycle matter.
